Life of a Show Girl
Taylor Swift's new album is already becoming the most talked-about album since its announcement, and it hasn’t been released yet. This is everything to know about the album so far.
On August 12, Taylor Swift announced her 12th Studio Album, “The Life of a Showgirl”. Here is everything to know so far. After the release date was announced for October 3, the world went crazy for the reveal of the cover and title. It was also shocking for her fans when Swift introduced Sabrina Carpenter as a feature on her title track, “The Life of a Showgirl”. The album will have 12 tracks, and Swift has made it very clear there will be no additional or bonus tracks.
When Taylor Swift was touring during The Eras Tour, at the end of each show, she would descend into the stage, while her dancers and backup vocalists would go through a hidden door on the stage. On her last night of this tour, she did something a little differently.
“And at the very last Eras Tour, you didn’t take the lift,” co-host of the New Heights podcast Jason Kelce said. “You did not. You went upstage and exited through an orange door.”
What the fans, or ‘Swifties’, did not know at the time was that this was a reference to a new album.
“Basically, the reason why I chose to exit that way is because I kind of wanted to give a little subliminal hint to the fans that I may be leaving The Eras Tour era, but I was also entering a new era,” American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift said on the podcast.
Swift then brought out a mint green and orange briefcase with ‘T.S.’ printed on it in glittery orange lettering. Inside the suitcase was her 12th studio album, ‘The Life of a Showgirl’.
Since then, fans have been curious about what this album will sound like. This led fans to form different hypotheses.
“Swift’s right-hand man, Jack Antonoff, who has produced her last six albums, will not be involved with the project and will instead be replaced by Swedish hit-makers Max Martin and Shellback,” according to Yahoo.com. This left many fans guessing and on the edge of their seats.
Max Martin and Shellback have worked with Swift in the past. Albums like “Red” (2012), 1989 (2014), and “Reputation” (2017) were all produced by them. This is the first time they have worked on a new project in years.
“And so, it was really amazing that we were able to, without doing too much overthinking, get in there, and it was just ideas flying, and all of these ideas, it was like we’ve been waiting years to come back together and make this project,” Swift said on the New Heights podcast.
Since the announcement, Swift has announced many albums and CD variations. The CD variants include ‘Sweat and Vanilla Perfume’, ‘It’s Frightening’, ‘It’s Rapturous’, and ‘It’s Beautiful’. The album variants include ‘The Shiny Bug’, ‘Baby, That’s Show Business’, and ‘The Tiny Bubbles in Champagne’.
All these variants are no longer available; however, ‘It’s Frightening’, ‘It’s Rapturous’, and ‘It’s Beautiful’ are now Target exclusives. None of these variants include any additional tracks, and it is not likely that she will release any more tracks beyond the initial release.
Without a doubt, Swift's new album is generating excitement and anticipation among Swifties worldwide.
